Popular Ghanaian actor, Akwasi Boadi aka Akrobeto, has stated that Kumawood did not collapse because of Agya Koo’s absence in movies.

Agya Koo claimed in an interview that the local movie industry, ‘Kumawood’—collapsed after some movie producers and directors tried to sideline him.

According to him, people were not patronizing local movies which he was not starred in.

But speaking in an interview on Peace FM chanced upon by Zionfelix.net, Akrobeto rebutted that what his colleague said was not entirely true.

From his point of view, Kumawood began to have challenges following the dumsor canker some years ago.

Unfortunately, Akrobeto posited the influx of telenovelas worsen the situation when the dumsor problem was fixed.

He, however, admitted that Agya Koo was the ‘king gong’ in Kumawood some years ago.

The popular actor recounted how movie makers have to wait for Agya Koo when he travels outside the country before they could shoot movies.
