The writer is Osei Chris Kofi. I have three strong passions in life — football, blogging and movies — in that order. I love spending time with friends talking about the important things in life and hate nothing more than ‘authority’ and hypocrisy. My personal believe in life is that once an individual sets his/her mind to achieve something, it is totally possible. And oh!, I am a strong Lannister, because I always pay my debt. It is shocking to state, but it appears that Ghana got a single nomination in the 2020 MTV Africa Music Awards as it returns after a little break.

The list which was released not long ago saw only Kwesi Arthur in the nominees of Best Hip-hop.

The likes of Master KG, Burna Boy, Busiswa, Tiwa Savage, Davido, and many others from 14 other countries were announced as nominees for the 2021 MTV Africa Music Awards which will be hosted in Kampala, Uganda.

It is worthy to note that São Tomé and Príncipe’s Calema leads the pack with three nominations for Artist of the Year, Best Group and Best Lusophone Act.

Personally, I am a little shocked that Ghana failed to get a lot more nominations.

Until any form of explanation comes in, below is the full first batch list of nominees for MAMA Kamapala 2021:
