This post will keep you updated on everything that happens at the awards event currently underway at the Grand Arena Dome located in Accra.

#VGMA24 Live Update…

The red carpet session which is being hosted by Fiifi Coleman and Chryxtal is currently underway.

Some top stars have already made their way into the auditorium for the main award event as they speak about their expectations for the night and the people who styled them.

Time check and it is 10:03 and the red carpet is finally over.

The award’s event has finally started and the opening act is Piesie Esther.

Piesie starts her performance with her yet-to-be-released gospel all-star’s version of her smash hit song, ‘Waye Me Yie’.

The opening performance is done and the hosts of the night, Berla Mundi, Naa Ashokor, and James Gardiner, are on the stage for the first time tonight.

It is 10:25 PM and KPMG brings the certified votes and presents it to the hosts of the night.

And it is a big surprise!!! KiDi appears on the VGMA stage to perform. He starts his performance with his smash hit song titled ‘Blessed’ which features Movado.

KiDi performs his recently released single ‘I Lied’ as his second song and ends with his party song.

The first award for the night goes to Piesie Esther. She wins the ‘Best Gospel Song’ category with her single ‘Waye Me Yie’.

The second award for the night goes to Perez Music who wins the award for ‘Best Male Vocal Performance’.

The next award goes to Niella as the ‘Best Female Vocal Performer’.

There is a switch from the gospel fraternity to the secular as the next award is picked by Lasmid as ‘Best Hiplife Song’.

DSL mounts the stage to perform and also picks his award as the winner of the ‘Unsung’ category.

Epixode mounts the stage as the fourth act to perform and like always, he gives the audience an electrifying performance.

Next up is the award for ‘Best Hippop Song’ of the year and it goes to the sensational young act, Black Sherif.

The landlord himself, Sarkodie picks his first award of the night. He wins the award for Best Collaboration.

Highly spiritual signed musician, Lasmid mounts the stage to deliver the next performance of the night.

Now, we are back to giving awards and Stonebwoy wins the next one with his song ‘Therapy’. He picks the award for best ‘Afropop Song’.

Kaywa comes on stage to present the next award for the night. The category is ‘Best Producer’ and it is won by MOG Beatz.

We are still on the awards and the next category is ‘Best Afrobeats Song’ and it is won by Camidoh.

And there is another performance finally after what appeared to have been another red carpet season during the main event.

The Konongo Zongo sensation, Black Sherif is finally on stage to perform and oh, his entry was a beautiful one.

Black Sherif delivers one of the best performances the night has seen by singing four songs.

After Blacko’s superb performance. We are back on the awards and Epixode picks the award for the ‘Best Reggae/Dancehall Song’.

The next award is the Lifetime Achievement Award and it is presented to veteran musician, Kofi Sammy.

Gyakie takes the stage next and delivers a soothing performance.

King Promise takes the stage now and performs as well.

The award for Best Highlife Song and Afrobeats/Afropop Artists are both presented and they go to Kelyvn Boy and King Promise respectively.

These presentations are followed by a performance by Kwabena Kwabena.

Medikal makes a nice entry as he gets ready to perform. There is a glitch but it is sorted quickly and he delivers a beautiful performance.

We are back to giving out awards and the award for ‘Song Writer of the Year; went to Perez Music while Kofi Kinaata wins ‘Best Highlife Artiste’ of the year.

Piesie Esther returns to the stage to pick a second award and this time, she walks home as the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ‘Gospel Artiste’ of the year.

There is another break from the presentation of awards. Ofori Amponsah takes over the stage to entertain the audience with his nostalgic songs.

Sarkodie picks his second award on the night as he is named ‘Best Hiplife Hippop Artiste’.

Stonebwoy also picks the award for ‘Best Reggae/Dancehall’ Artiste of the Year.

The Best Rap Performance was expected to be a tough one and it was indeed but in the end, Amerado walked home with the bragging rights.

Finally, the landlord is on stage. Sarkodie has taken over the stage with some fireworks as he performs at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

And the moment we have all been waiting for is finally here.

It has been a long night but Black Sherif will forget all about that because he walks home at the ‘Artiste of the Year’ for 2022.
