For the very first time, Guiness World Records has publicly announced its verdict on Afua Asantewaa Aduonum’s sing-a-thon attempt.

The Ghanaian media personality began singing on 24 December 2023, at Akwaaba village, located in Accra, Ghana.

After 5 consecutive days, she ended her singing marathon on 29 December 2023, after having sung for 126 hours and 52 minutes.

She attempted to break the world record mark of  105 hour mark set by India’s Sunil Waghmare in 2012.

Unfortunately, according to a reply from Guiness World Records, Afua Asantewaa’s record attempt for the longest singing marathon was not successful after the submitted evidence was checked.

The awarding body also urged Afua Asantewaa to try again one more time in the coming days maybe she would be successful with her second attempt

The post added that the money she paid to fast-track the process had already been refunded to her because they had made their judgement already.
