The Nollywood-Africa in Diaspora Film and Food Festival and Awards has appointed Ms. Ramatu Gumah as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Head of Diaspora, and Brand Ambassador.

Her appointment is expected to strengthen the festival’s vision of connecting Africa with its diaspora while promoting the continent’s rich cultural heritage through film, food, music, fashion, and other creative expressions.

As the newly appointed CEO, Head of Diaspora, and Brand Ambassador, Ms. Ramatu Gumah is again expected to lead the festival’s international engagement, strengthen partnerships within the African diaspora, and help position the event as one of the continent’s leading cultural festivals on the global calendar.

The Nollywood-Africa in Diaspora Film and Food Festival and Awards is a unique international cultural platform created to celebrate African stories, creativity, and identity.

It also serves as a hub where filmmakers, creatives, entrepreneurs, cultural ambassadors, and African communities across the world come together to showcase the best of Africa.

Moreover, the festival is an initiative established to bridge the gap between Africa and its diaspora by creating opportunities for African talents to gain global recognition while encouraging cultural exchange, collaboration, tourism, and investment.

Unlike conventional film festivals, the Nollywood-Africa in Diaspora Film and Food Festival and Awards also celebrates not only cinema but also African cuisine, fashion, music, live performances, cultural heritage, and business networking. The platform seeks to preserve African traditions while embracing innovation and contemporary creative expression.

The festival again honours outstanding filmmakers, actors, cultural promoters, creative professionals, and organisations whose work continues to project Africa positively across the world. Through its awards scheme, the organisers hope to inspire excellence, innovation, and higher standards within Africa’s creative industry.

With Ms. Ramatu Gumah now at the helm of the diaspora arm and serving as the festival’s brand ambassador, expectations are high that the Nollywood-Africa in Diaspora Film and Food Festival and Awards will witness greater international visibility, stronger collaborations, and increased participation from Africans and people of African descent worldwide.
