One tag that has been loosely used and abused is that of a ‘celebrity’. It, however, looks like, after the many years of abuse suffered by the tag, one of the many people who would have probably qualified for the tag, Highlife musician Kwaisey Pee has stated categorically that none of the showbiz players in Ghana qualify to be called a celebrity.

According to him, colleagues in the industry need to reach a certain wealth status before they can be called celebrities. Speaking on Hitz FM’s ‘Daybreak Hitz’ entertainment review show hosted by KMJ, Kwaisey question what the people who always happy to be associated with the tag have which qualifies them as celebrities.

“Do they own a Lamborghini? Do they have a private jet? Do they have things you need to be called a celeb?” he quizzed.

The ‘Mehia Odo’ hitmaker revealed that maybe the embattled CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah will qualify as a celebrity because of his wealth but the rest who have the tag are self-professed titles.

“The guy had everything, money, mansions, cars and a private jet. If they all belong to him, he qualifies as a celebrity,” he stated.
