The writer is Osei Chris Kofi. I have three strong passions in life — football, blogging and movies — in that order. I love spending time with friends talking about the important things in life and hate nothing more than ‘authority’ and hypocrisy. My personal believe in life is that once an individual sets his/her mind to achieve something, it is totally possible. And oh!, I am a strong Lannister, because I always pay my debt. Giving is one of the greatest commissions the Bible encourages every Christian to undertake. Luke 6: 38 encourages Christians to always give so as to be given in return. Such is the stance of Gospel sensation Obaapa Christy who in times past donated proceeds accrued from the sale of tickets at her album launch to orphanage homes.

During the launch of Aseda Nwom, Obaapa donated the proceeds to Osu Childrens’ Home in Accra. Similarly in 2014, after the launch of ‘hyebre sesafor’, the proceeds were donated to an orphanage in Bawjiase, a suburb in Accra. This year is no exception as she will donate all proceeds from the ticket sales from her album launch to an orphanage.

In an exclusive interview with Obaapa, she reiterated that it was a covenant between her and God. She posited “Ever since I started doing this, God has been more than` faithful in my life. His blessings are endless. My dream is to build an orphanage but until then I won’t stop giving back to the needy especially orphans”.
“My team and I are also organizing a Medical and Mental Health screening as well as registering attendants unto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). It is my little quota in giving back to the society”.
