Ghanaian rapper Okese1 has reacted to a shocking suggestion that he stole a song from social media sensation Asafo Powers.

The issue emerged after a social media user, identified as Tony in X, commented on a post by Okese1, claiming that Asafo Powers had accused the rapper of stealing his music.

“Asafo Powers said you stole in music,” the user wrote.

Although the comment did not provide further details about the alleged theft, it quickly triggered reactions from other users.

In a response on his part, Okese1 took to X on Friday, October 9, 2026, to express his disappointment over what he described as betrayal by someone he had supported musically.

In his post, the rapper disclosed that he had written two songs for the individual in question, financed the production of their music videos and distributed the songs through his independently built platform to help the person reach a wider audience.

According to Okese1, despite making these investments, he received what he described as betrayal in return.

“Bro would u believe i wrote two songs for this guy, shot videos with my own money, distributed through my independently built platform for more listeners and all i could get in return is betrayal?” he wrote.

The rapper added that he did not want to discuss the matter further, choosing instead to laugh it off and leave everything to God.

It should be noted that Okese1 and Asafo Powers have collaborated on music projects, including Enka Mam, which also features Last Hero, and NGWE, on which Okese1 and Last Hero feature Asafo Powers.
