Popular Kumasi-based disc jockey DJ KA has finally publicly spoken about the leaked tape controversy involving Ama Parone, accepting responsibility for the footage while revealing that he refused to give in to demands from individuals allegedly attempting to blackmail him.
During a TikTok live session with colleague El Lizato, DJ KA addressed the issue in a calm and composed manner, offering his first detailed response since the controversy erupted.
The popular DJ confirmed that the video in question was not a recent recording and disclosed that the footage had been a source of concern for several years.
According to DJ KA, attempts had been made in the past by individuals who threatened to release the tape unless he paid them. However, he explained that the latest demand crossed a line because of the amount of money being requested.
He revealed that he decided not to comply with the blackmailers’ demands, choosing instead to face the consequences of the tape becoming public.
“This time around, the money they were requesting, I said no,” DJ KA stated in the video.
While acknowledging the embarrassment caused by the incident, DJ KA said the most painful aspect of the backlash has not necessarily been the leaked footage itself, but rather the public ridicule and jokes directed at him, particularly comments about his age.
