In the early hours of Wednesday, January 3, 2024, popular waakye vendor, Auntie Muni was sadly announced dead.

The reports started to make rounds on Facebook and was eventually confirmed by renowned event organiser, Nabil Alhassan who wrote: “We Regret to Announce the Demise of Our Aunty and Mum
Aunty Muni this morning. May her soul rest in peace 🙏 “

According to the reports, she passed on at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) in Accra after a short illness.

Also, one of Auntie Muni’s son’s called Arafat in an interview with Benjamin Offei-Addo on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday (3 January) said that she would be buried in Tamale today.

“Mummy was sick, she was complaining of pain, so we took her to the SNNIT Hospital…., there were complications, so she asked that they discharge her.”

“When they discharged her, after two days, we realised she was still not feeling well. So we rushed her to the University of Ghana Medical Centre for medical attention and this morning at 3 am she passed away,” Arafat said.
