Kumawood actor Abraham Kofi Davies, popularly known as Salinko, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for his generosity and continued support for people in Ghana’s creative arts industry.
According to the actor, President Mahama has repeatedly shown concern for entertainers who go through difficult periods, particularly when they require financial or other forms of assistance.
In a recent video, Salinko spoke warmly about the president’s character, describing him as someone with a good heart who does not turn his back on celebrities facing challenges.
“He is a very good person. I have never met him one-on-one before, but the day I finally meet him, I will lie on the floor. Anytime celebrities find themselves in crisis, Mahama steps in to help them. He has a good heart, and he is very generous,” he said.
Salinko’s comments come amid similar accounts from other personalities within Ghana’s entertainment industry about the president’s support.
Among those who have publicly spoken about receiving assistance from President Mahama are actor Mr Beautiful, entertainment executive Bullgod and veteran musician Obuoba JA Adofo.
Some of these creatives have disclosed that they receive support from the president, including stipends in certain cases.
The remarks have added to a growing conversation about the role of government and political leaders in supporting Ghana’s creative sector, particularly artists and industry professionals who often face financial difficulties after years of contributing to the country’s entertainment landscape.
Salinko, however, sees the president’s intervention as extending beyond official policies, with his personal willingness to assist entertainers earning him praise from those who say they have benefited from his support.
