Prolific Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, known publicly as Sarkodie, has been named as the Ambassador for the Year of Return.
The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Madam Barbara Oteng Gyasi announced Sarkodie’s ambassadorial position at the Creative Art Forum held in Accra on Wednesday which was covered by zionfelix.net
A citation was also given in honour of his immense contributions to the music industry in Ghana.
Madam Oteng Gyasi congratulated the rapper for his hard work and the numerous awards won in his musical career.
In an acceptance speech, Sarkodie pledged his full support for the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
He disclosed that he was touched listening to the Creative Arts Minister.
On behalf of musicians in the country, Sarkodie assured the minister their readiness to help disseminate information to the masses.
He was hopeful that the musicians can help bridge the seeming disconnect between the public and people in government.
Sarkodie ended with a promise to promote Ghana wherever he will go.
