Award-winning Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, accompanied by rapper Medikal and members of his management team, on Thursday, July 9, 2026, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) as part of preparations for the highly anticipated ShattaFest UK 2026.

The visit, which also served as an opportunity for the musicians to familiarize themselves with the operations of GoldBod, centered on exploring a strategic partnership that would promote locally made Ghanaian gold jewellery on the international stage.

Speaking during the engagement, Shatta Wale explained that one of the key reasons for the visit was his upcoming ShattaFest UK event in London, where he intends to proudly showcase Ghanaian-made gold jewellery.

According to the “On God” hitmaker, performing on an international stage presents a perfect opportunity to market Ghana’s rich gold heritage through fashion and entertainment.

He further expressed optimism that collaborating with GoldBod would not only enhance Ghana’s global image but also create fresh opportunities for local jewellers and artisans by exposing their craftsmanship to international audiences.

Medikal, who accompanied his longtime friend, also praised the leadership of the Ghana Gold Board and commended the CEO for the institution’s vision.

The award-winning rapper noted that Ghana’s music industry possesses enormous influence that can be leveraged to market locally produced gold and jewellery beyond the country’s borders.

He stressed that artistes have become global ambassadors whose concerts, music videos and public appearances can project Ghanaian brands to millions of people across the world.

Officials of GoldBod welcomed the artistes and expressed appreciation for their interest in promoting Ghanaian products through their international platforms.

ShattaFest UK 2026 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Copthall Playing Fields in London, where thousands of fans from the United Kingdom and across Europe are expected to gather for the maiden UK edition of the festival.
