Nigerian singer Mr Eazi has recounted how Shatta Wale turned up at his Detty Rave event unannounced to show his support.

Mr Eazi said Shatta Wale had never requested payment to perform at any of his shows, unlike other artistes whose appearances at his events come with financial arrangements.

During a livestream with MadeinGhana on October 25, 2026, the singer explained that Shatta Wale’s willingness to support him without prior arrangements had left a strong impression on him.

He recalled being on stage at Detty Rave when the audience suddenly erupted in excitement. Curious about the reaction, he turned around and realised that Shatta Wale had arrived at the venue.

“I was just performing, then all of a sudden, people started screaming. I was wondering what was going on, only for me to look back and I saw Shatta Wale. He came to support me and he didn’t even call me. We didn’t have any conversation about the show,” Mr Eazi stated.

According to him, the unexpected appearance demonstrated the kind of support that goes beyond business arrangements. He noted that although he sometimes pays fellow musicians to perform at his events, Shatta Wale has never charged him for such appearances.

“A lot of times I do shows and you see artistes there, I pay them, but I’ve never paid Shatta Wale to come and perform. He would turn up there and show love,” he said.

The singer also linked his decision to support Shatta Wale during the Ghanaian artiste’s stadium concert to the kindness he had received from him.

Mr Eazi said he remained awake until around 4 a.m. to follow the concert, explaining that he wanted to show the same level of support Shatta Wale had demonstrated towards him.

“That’s why when he had the stadium show, I stayed up till like 4 a.m. to support him,” Mr Eazi disclosed.

Aside from the personal experience, Mr Eazi challenged the perception of Shatta Wale as a controversial and unpredictable figure, insisting that the musician’s public image does not tell the full story about his character.

He described the Shatta Movement boss as both intelligent and genuine, pointing to his actions as evidence of the qualities he admires in him.

“A lot of people feel like Shatta Wale is crazy or like a live wire, but he’s actually one of the smartest people I know. He is also one of the realest people I know,” Mr Eazi further stated.
