The calls for the government to legalize the use of marijuana aka ‘wee’ in Ghana, especially for commercial purposes was at its highest last year.

Top personalities like Kwame Sefa Kayi, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, John Dumelo and a few others added their voice to the call.

Fast forward this year, Ghanaian afro-pop singer cum nurse Iona born Mercy Sam has also pressed on the government to try and legalize it as a matter of urgency.

Speaking in an interview sighted by zionfelix.net, Iona stated that ’weed’ is not a harmful substance as it has been falsely speculated, adding that it has very great medicinal benefits.

The “Penetrate” singer revealed that even though she does not smoke it, she uses the herbs for her tea, hair and other stuff.

Weed is very good, It is medicinal. Weed should be legalized. I don’t smoke but I use the herbs for my hair. I cook with it some times. I love tea,” Iona told First Lady in an interview on BrownGH TV.
