For some weeks now, there has been a raging debate over a clause in a contract signed by up and coming singer, NaaNa Blu by Darling Records, owned by Mimi Andani Michaels.

The clause in question states: “the artist understands that the nature of the business and how time consuming and the cash investment that will be made in his/her career, base on this the artist understand and accept not to be pregnant for the first 30 months of this agreement (this is applicable to only female artist under the company, should this be a major challenge artist should NOT go on to sign this agreement.”

Many people have wondered why a female CEO will make a musician who is also a female to sign such an ‘absurd’ contract, even though Mimi has maintained that they didn’t force her to sign this contract.

Well, NaaNa Blu has finally revealed why she signed such a contract when she appeared on Okay FM’s ‘Best Entertainment Show’ hosted by Halifax Ansah Addo on Friday.

According to NaaNa Blu, she signed the contract because she was hell burnt on getting the needed fame and attention in the music industry.

”I was excited, thought like if I can just sacrifice, so that was a sacrifice. Why don’t I sacrifice and focus on the music and at the right time, because the things we were up to, things she told me she was going to do for me, I was really really excited so I had to because I really wanted to be at that top face” she said.

Asked if she ever regrets signing such a contract, NaaNa Blu replied that it has been a lesson well learned.

”I won’t sit here and say I regret because she(Mimi) has helped me. Everything I have been through sums up to be who I am today so whether it was wrong or right, I’ve learnt from my past so I don’t want to say I regret. Maybe it would have been something else if that had not happened” she added.
