Kumawood actor Sunsum

The debate in recent times that seek to suggest that the new school of musicians are gradually washing away the old folks has prompted one of Kumawood’s most ‘feared’ actors, Sumsum Ahoufe to disclose what he thinks about the topic.

According to him, even though the likes of Kuami Eugene and King Promise are doing very well for themselves currently, they can never be compared to big names like Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and Shatta Wale because they are miles ahead of the up and coming  acts.

The actor who is known in private life as Yaw Adu Danso stressed that should there be the need for any international competition today, the new crop of musicians cannot defend the country like Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Sarkodie will do and as such his strong conviction that likes of Kuami Eugene, Kidi, King Promise  and others are just walking through the industry.

To back his argument, Sumsum used the Ghana movie industry as an example. He made the point that even though they are all stars to some extent, should they turn for any program with Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin, he (Lilwin) will get more attention than all the actors and actresses in Ghana now because he reigns supreme currently.

When asked where he will place the reggae-dancehall ‘grandpapa’, Samini on his list in all of this analysis, the ‘Devil’s Food’ actor revealed that currently, the ‘Obaa’ hitmaker is a very old man in the literal sense. He ended by telling Ghanaian music lovers that they should stop deceiving these young ones that they have arrived because they still have a long way to go.
