Musician turned social commentator and politician, Kwame Asare Obeng has been very hard on President Akuffo-Addo and his NPP led government ever since they took power in 2016 hugely because of their many failed promises.

However, on the topic about the president of Ghana, H.E. Akuffo-Addo usually ‘sleeping’ at public functions, A Plus has asked Ghanaians to cut the first gentleman some slack.

Speaking on Accra FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo mid-morning show hosted by Nana Romeo, he stated that the president works too much which might be why he is sometimes seen dozing off at public gatherings.

He added that because many of the people the president has appointed and institutions in the country fail in their duty, the president single-handedly has to work more hours just to get the nation working the way he wants.

The leader of the People’s Project, which is basically a formidable, Non-partisan and Non-violent Ghanaian social movement disclosed that the last time he was at the seat of government, the president was working even though it was 1 AM in the morning.

“This issue is very relevant to me, the last time I went to the FlagStaff House I decided to go to his office, when I climbed up I said to him, Your Excellency, I knew you will be awake at this time”… “The President sleeps at 2 am so stop saying Nana Addo has slept at a conference and so on”, he stated

A Plus further added that in Ghana, if you are a President you have a difficult task unlike in the USA where everyone is putting in much effort for better governance.

“If you look at our problems as a nation, even if Donald Trump is here he will sleep as early as 9 pm because there, their structures work, everyone put’s in much effort but here, you need to everything by yourself. He is doing very well, if he doesn’t work hard we people will campaign to vote him out” he added
