Hitz FM’s Dr. Pounds

Hitz FM presenter, Dr Pounds has descended heavily on Tony Pun who is a former manager of music icon Samini.

According to Dr. Pounds, Tony pun wasn’t supportive of Samini’s career as was expected. He explained Tony Pun always prevented Samini from granting interviews when he finally gained recognition in the industry.

Speaking on his after-drive show on Thursday evening which was monitored monitored by zionfelix.net, a very emotional Dr. Pounds bemoaned the tendency of people to become ungrateful after they make it in the industry.

“Those things make Shatta Wale take worry Samini. Because there was a manager who was not supporting and Samini has learnt his lessons. You will call Tony Pun those days for an interview with Samini and he will tell you Samini asleep or doing something so he will inform him and get back to you. But when you pass back and call Samini himself, he will pick up the phone and grant the interview. So after finishing the interview with Samini and you call Tony Pun to intentionally ask him about the interview to hear what he will say, Tony will then say he’s calling Samini to check up because it looks like he’s still sleeping not knowing the interview is already done” – Dr Pounds divulged on the evening show.

Ghanaian Dancehall/Hiplife musician, Emmanuel Andrews ‘Samini’ parted ways with his manager Anthony Daning, also known as Tony Pun back in 2017. They had built a working relationship for 10 years before splitting up.

Neither Tony nor Samini made the reasons public at the time but industry players speculates that although Tony had done exceptionally well with Samini, he lacked the ideas and dexterity to make him stand tall amongst the current crop of artistes.
