Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has broken his silence after filmmaker and actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, accused him of disappointing him over an upcoming movie project.
Lil Win had earlier expressed his frustration in a video, claiming that Van Vicker turned down a movie role close to the scheduled shooting date.
He consequently vowed never to cast Van Vicker in any of his movies again, adding that he would not work on any production that has both of them on the cast.
However, Van Vicker has now responded to the allegations and given a different account of what actually happened.
Per a report by GhanaWeb after they spoke with Van Vicker on August 11, 2026, he dismissed claims that he cancelled a movie appearance just a day before shooting.
It was reported that Van Vicker mentioned that he never formally agreed to feature in the movie in the first place.
Van Vicker reportedly explained that a director identified as Big Matt approached him on behalf of Lil Win and proposed that he feature in two movies that were expected to be shot in Kumasi.
He said the initial dates did not fit his schedule, so alternative dates were suggested.
Van Vicker noted that he agreed to check his availability and requested the scripts before making a final commitment.
He also revealed that several days before the planned production, he informed Big Matt that his existing engagements would not allow him to participate.
According to Van Vicker, the production team even tried to make things easier by reducing the number of days he was expected to shoot from three or four days to two.
He, however, still had to decline because of his prior commitments.
Van Vicker also revealed that Big Matt later told him that the script had been written specifically for him.
He said that information should have been communicated to him from the beginning, although his availability remained the major issue.
The actor strongly rejected the claim that he cancelled at the last minute, insisting that there was never a confirmed deal.
He further stressed that the situation of being portrayed in a misleading manner, saying he would not allow himself to be part of what he described as a misleading or mischievous promotional stunt.
