Wizkid, R2bees, Efya & Mr Eazi of Starboy Worldwide

Afro-soul songstress Efya has cleared the air on reports that Nigerian superstar Wizkid has signed her on his record label, Starboy Worldwide.

The “Ojuelegba” hitmaker at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards announced that he has inked a deal with Ghana’s R2bees, Efya and Mr. Eazi on his record label, Starboy Worldwide. But Efya speaking on Celebrity Ride With Zionfelix show disclosed that Wizkid did not sign him on the label.

She explained that Starboy Worldwide is a collaborative effort by all artistes on it with the sole aim of projecting African music to the world so it is not owned by an individual. She then asked the public to clear the notion that Wizkid owns it so the other musicians on the label are his artistes.

The “Jorley” songstress who hosts her last edition of Girl Talk concert on December 27 this year further said the Satrboy Worldwide is an affiliation of all record labels of the four acts – R2bees, Mr. Eazi, Wizkid and herself. When Zionfelix, host of the show asked if her explanation meant Wizkid did not sign her on his record, she replied yes “because it is an affiliation”.
The group which has two Nigeria musicians and three Ghanaian acts she said is to help each other’s career.

Efya later disclosed that she is signed on her own record label, One Nation Entertainment which has other up and coming musicians and sound engineers.
