Ghanaian musician and former member of defunct music group Praye, Eugene Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster, has released an official statement to the public following the passing of his wife, actress Beverly Afaglo.

The statement, which was issued on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, comes days after news of the actress’s demise sent shock across Ghana’s entertainment industry and beyond.

In the statement, Choirmaster and his family expressed gratitude to the public for the overwhelming support they have received during the difficult period.

“During this incredibly difficult time, Eugene and his family are profoundly grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and condolences from friends, fans, and well-wishers,” portions of the statement read.

The family also appealed for privacy as they continue to mourn the actress and celebrate her legacy.

According to the release, Choirmaster is currently receiving medical care and is unable to take calls at the moment due to the emotional impact of the tragic loss.

“The family respectfully requests privacy as they continue to grieve and honor Beverly’s life and legacy. Eugene is currently receiving medical care and cannot take calls,” the statement added.

The family further urged the media and the public to refrain from direct contact and avoid speculations surrounding the situation.

They assured the public that details concerning memorial arrangements and other announcements would be communicated at the appropriate time.

The statement ended with appreciation to everyone who has shown compassion and support to the family during what has become one of the most heartbreaking moments in their lives.

Currently, it is public knowledge that a memorial vigil with be organized for Beverly Afaglo on May 30, 2026.
