Founder of Heaven Way International Ministry, Nana Agradaa, has stirred conversation on social media after issuing a directive to unmarried junior pastors in her church, warning that they could be demoted if they fail to get married before the end of the year.
Speaking during a church gathering in a video that has since gone viral, the controversial evangelist said pastors serving under her ministry have six months to settle down or risk losing their current positions.
“I am giving you until the end of the year. If you are a pastor and you have not gotten married, I will demote you,” she stated.
According to Agradaa, she believes church leaders should set a positive example for congregants and questioned the conduct of unmarried pastors who remain sexually active outside marriage.
“You have the remaining six months to settle down, or you risk losing your position as a pastor. You cannot tell me you are not married but still want to engage in sexual activities,” she said.
The evangelist further challenged her junior pastors to embrace responsibility and family life, arguing that marriage encourages discipline and accountability.
“How can a full-grown pastor be in this church without a wife and still be engaging in immoral behaviour? Be a responsible man. Look at your father and be like him,” she remarked.
Agradaa also linked marriage to personal wellbeing, suggesting that married pastors are more likely to enjoy stability and proper care at home.
“Get married so your wife can prepare good meals for you. Look at how good Angel Prophet looks because I have been taking good care of him with good meals,” she added, referring to her husband, Angel Asiamah.
The comments have sparked mixed reactions online. While some social media users agreed with her view that church leaders should uphold strong family values, others questioned whether marital status should be tied to one’s ability to serve in a pastoral role.
