Akuapem Poloo has disclosed that she once came close to undergoing buttocks enhancement surgery after a former boyfriend offered to cover the entire cost, but in the end, she chose not to go through with it.
The actress made the revelation during an appearance on Atuu with Nana Romeo, where she spoke candidly about body enhancement, relationships and the pressures some women face from their partners.
Recalling the experience, Poloo admitted she seriously entertained the idea before deciding it was not the right choice for her.
“I was once dating a man who told me to go and do buttocks enhancement surgery and he would pay for it. I nearly did it, but I thought about it thoroughly and decided not to do it,” she said.
She explained that her former partner’s preference for women with enhanced bodies became obvious through his activity on social media. According to her, the accounts he followed often featured women who had undergone cosmetic procedures, something she found difficult to ignore.
“Sometimes, you get frustrated, especially when you realise he only follows women who have undergone surgery on his social media platforms. We ladies normally do check the kind of women our men follow,” she stated.

Poloo indicated that women in relationships are often more observant than their partners realise, picking up on habits and patterns that may go unnoticed by the men themselves.
“When I’m in love with you, there are some things I would find out about you and you would think I don’t know,” she divulged.
The actress went on to argue that some men subtly encourage women to alter their appearance, only to later deny playing any role in that decision.
“Some men frustrate their partners to enhance their body, but they would tend to deny the fact that they made you do it. They surround themselves with women who have enhanced their bodies, but they don’t end up marrying such women,” she alleded.
Sharing her views on beauty standards and relationships, Poloo said she believes many men admire surgically enhanced figures from a distance but often prefer natural-looking women when it comes to long-term commitment.
“Most women who have done their body can’t keep men in their lives. That’s because men want their women to have a natural body. They don’t also respect them because they think they have a perfect body,” Akuapem Poloo further stated.
