Veteran Ghanaian broadcaster and Presidential Special Envoy to the Caribbean, KKD, has explained why he chose to marry early, pointing to family advice he received in his youth.

Speaking in an interview on Power FM, he said the decision was shaped largely by a conversation with his uncle during his younger years. According to him, the guidance he received framed marriage timing as something with long-term personal consequences.

He recounted the advice this way: “I hope everyone gets a good marriage. I got married early because my uncle gave me some advice. He told me that even though I had no money, ladies were still all over me.

“He added that when I eventually got money, even more women would come around. But if I delayed marriage for too long, fools would be with the woman who would later become my wife. And I realised there was some truth in what he said,” he stated.

The comments have since sparked a divided reaction online. While some users say they understand KKD’s reasoning and agree with his perspective on timing and marriage, others argue that delaying marriage does not automatically shape or determine the outcome of future relationships.
