The family of late Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Beverly Afaglo has announced a change in the venue for her final funeral service, adjusting earlier arrangements as preparations continue for her burial scheduled for August 2026.
According to an updated funeral poster released by the family, the initial plan to hold the ceremony at the Lashibi Funeral Home has been revised.
Now, the final funeral rites will now take place at the forecourt of the State House in Accra on Saturday, August 8, 2026, beginning at 7:00 a.m while the burial will be conducted privately after the main service.
The change in venue is expected to provide space for the large turnout of mourners anticipated, including members of the Ghanaian creative arts industry, political figures, friends, and fans who have expressed deep interest in paying their final respects to the late actress.
In addition, a thanksgiving service has been scheduled for Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Action Chapel International, starting at 9:00 a.m. The service is expected to bring together family, colleagues, and supporters to formally give thanks and conclude the funeral activities.
Beverly Afaglo passed away on May 24, 2026, at the age of 42, just days before her 43rd birthday. Her death sent shockwaves across Ghana’s entertainment industry, triggering widespread tributes from actors, musicians, and media personalities who described her as vibrant, hardworking, and influential.
Over the past weeks, social media has been filled with emotional messages celebrating her legacy in Ghanaian film and entrepreneurship, as well as reflections on her resilience through personal challenges, including the widely reported fire incident that affected her home in 2021.
She is survived by her husband and two children, who have been at the center of the funeral arrangements.
