Achimota school adds controversial rasta student to its NSMQ squad

Tyrone Marghuy, amidst a national debate, has been selected to join Achimota Senior High School’s team for the upcoming National Science and Maths Quiz competition.

Initially, the school had declined his admission solely based on his dreadlocks, leading to a legal case that was brought before a Ghanaian court.

Ultimately, the court ruled in favor of Tyrone Marghuy, allowing him to be admitted to the school.

We encourage all members of our community to reach out to the team and help equip them for a successful season.”  the school said in a post that came with photos that captured Tyrone Marghuy sitting among the school’s NSQM team.
