Ghanaian actress Rosemond Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo, has opened up about her hopes for marriage. She revealed that she desires a lifelong union similar to that of veteran Kumawood actress Kyeiwaa.

Akuapem Poloo said she is looking forward to settling down at the right time and is not interested in rushing into marriage simply because of societal expectations. She explained that her greatest wish is to have a marriage that stands the test of time without going through divorce.

Speaking during an interview on Aluta FM, the actress said she believes marriage should happen according to God’s timing, even though she feels prepared for it.

“I never want to go through a divorce after getting married. One of my biggest prayers to God is that, at the age I am now, if I get the opportunity to marry, I will. But I’m not forcing it. Whenever the right time comes, I’ll be okay with it,” she said.

The actress revealed that Kyeiwaa’s marriage has become a source of motivation for her because it challenges the belief that age determines when someone should find a life partner.

According to Akuapem Poloo, the veteran actress’ decision to marry later in life shows that true companionship comes when the time is right rather than when society expects it.

“I see the legendary Kyeiwaa as an inspiration. She got married later in life after living her life, and that shows marriage isn’t about age. If God has destined someone to be your partner, it doesn’t matter how old you are, even if you’ve lost your teeth because of old age. When the time is right, it will happen,” she indicated.

Akuapem Poloo further argued that people who enter marriage at a mature stage may have a better understanding of the responsibilities involved because they have had time to develop emotionally, financially, and socially.

She stressed that although marriage is a dream for many women, it should not be pursued out of pressure or fear of being left behind.

The actress said she remains open to marriage whenever the right opportunity comes, adding that her experiences in life have prepared her for such a commitment.

“If the opportunity comes now, I will get married because I know I am mature enough. Looking at everything I have been through, I have been able to hold myself together. Have you ever seen me bring my personal issues to social media before? That doesn’t mean I’m not going through anything. I’m facing a lot in my relationships,” she further stated.

Akuapem Poloo maintained that she has learned to handle personal challenges privately and believes that patience is key when it comes to finding the right partner.
