The Bank of Ghana has released a statement to warn the Ghanaian populace against ‘Freedom Coin’ that is about to be launched by Ghanaian business mogul, Nana Kwame Bediako aka Cheddar.

This statement from the Bank of Ghana follows the decision of Cheddar to organize his own ‘Independence Day’ and address some youth he gathered to reveal his plan to launch a new cryptocurrency named “Freedom Coin”.

Before the cryptocurrency even gets the proper authentication and makes its way onto the market, the Bank has released the statement to state that they have not given any approval.

The statement also adds that: “It has come to the attention of Bank of Ghana that there is an impending launch of a cryptocurrency named “Freedom Coin”. The public is hereby cautioned that neither this cryptocurrency nor the promoting company has approval from Bank of Ghana to operate in the banking and payment sector,”
