The call of many Ghanaians after the deadly coronavirus pandemic started spreading wild like a fire recently has finally been heeded to by the president of the land, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The president made this all-important announcement at the third official briefing he gave the citizenry about the pandemic from the comfort of the Jubilee House in a video broadcast.

He stated emphatically that Ghana’s borders by air, sea, and land will be close to all human influx, adding that any person who is allowed to go through will have to submit him/herself to a mandatory quarantine.

President Akufo-Addo also clarified this closure will not apply to goods coming into the country.

The first gentleman also called on all Ghanaians, no matter their religious belief to try and fast on Wednesday, March 25 for the country, notwithstanding observing keenly the various safety tips that have been put out by the various agencies concerned with this deadly disease.

So far, Ghana has confirmed 19 positive cases of the disease also known as COVID-19 with one death recorded in Kumasi, the country’s second-biggest city.
