Ghanaian Actor and Comedian Prince Yawson popularly known as Waakye has expressed regrets over the open campaigning he did for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2016.

Waakye was one of the many celebrities who openly campaigned for the then main opposition NPP in the round up to the 2016 elections.

The veteran actor revealed that he supported the New Patriotic Party out of frustration. He recounted how the frequent power outages under the erstwhile Mahama administration affected his acting job.

The actor while speaking to TV3 Journalist MzGee said he doesn’t like to involve himself in politics because he would create enemies when he does but the situation under the NDC in 2016 wass bad for him and that led to his endorsement of the NPP.

Going back into time, the celebrated actor said he regretted his decisions. He proceeded to render an apology to Ghanaians for his mistake in 2016.
