The three-day event dubbed Corporate Fashion Exposé is on the theme: “WEAR IT RIGHT” and is being organised by Maria’s Fashion House, a unisex clothes production house that specialises in affordable, Afrocentric, formal, evening and casual outfits with over 15 years’ design and creative experience.

The extravaganza, which will be held at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra opens tomorrow at 9:00 AM with an Exhibition of Fashion Products, followed by a seminar on Corporate Style Guide for Men and Women on Friday at 9:00 AM.

A glitzy Corporate Fashion Show and Awards Night will draw the curtains down on the programme on Saturday, July 28, 2018. According to the organisers, two distinguished personalities will be honoured on the night for their commitment to the promotion of the local fabric through their advocacy works and attires.

The Style Guide seminar will be hosted by Ms. Nancy, a celebrated style coach, Ivanova Amengor, image consultant and Samuel Duncan, banker, and male groomer.

Some of the designers expected on the runway and exhibition grounds include Ghanaian international fabric cutting expert, Tetteh Plahar of Tetteh Plahar Designs, UK and Ghana, KOD of Nineteen57byKod, Abrantee the gentleman, Maria’s Fashion House and Dzine Dzakuma.

The organiser of the event and Executive Director of Maria’s Fashion House, Maria Adams noted that “This vision was conceived following governments (both the NDC & NPP) advocacy for Ghanaians to adopt the habit of wearing African prints on Fridays for official duties”.

According to her, the general idea behind the event is to lead a movement where Ghanaian and African produced fabrics will be well tailored for official corporate events and not limited only to Fridays and weekends.

Development Expert and Fashion Designer, Dzine Dzakuma pointed out that the show will encourage Ghanaians to wear the local fabric, adding that, “it is the only way we will boost the fashion industry which in the long run will translate into the economic growth of the country, which we all so desire”.

The event is being supported by the Ministries of Trade and Industry, Tourism, Arts, and Culture; the National Commission on Culture with sponsorship from Moneygram, Wuenam Vacation Home, 3E Media Services, Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, and Sweetness Beauty Palace.
