D-Black

Anytime rap-loving fans have tried to put together a list of Ghanaian rappers who are wack, the name of Black Avenue Muzik boss, Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, popularly known as D-Black, is not left out of the list.

Well, singer S3fa, one of the musicians signed onto the music label of D-Black thinks otherwise. According to the “Odo Yewu” hitmaker, her boss is one of the very best rappers in Ghana and rates only Sarkodie ahead of him.

Speaking on the ‘Uncut’ show hosted by Zionfelix recently, S3fa argues that if D-Black is to battle it out with Manifest, a rapper who is hailed by many Ghanaian rap music lovers and described as arguably the best in the country in recent years, her boss will reign supreme.

She also stated that many Ghanaians have the belief that her boss is not a great rapper because his raps are fully in English. When the host of the show, Zionfelix pointed out that Manifest also raps in English, S3fa admitted it was true but stressed that he on various occasions blends it with many of the local dialects but his boss does not do so.

S3fa also made the argument that D-Black earned his 2011 BET Awards nomination because of rap and as such she is usually at a loss as to why people would want to suggest he is a poor and very bad rapper.
