Ghanaian Highlife musician, Dada KD, has declared he’s stepping away from commenting on politics and governance, saying he no longer feels the drive or interest to weigh in.
He made this known in a recent interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM.
“The strength to talk about these things is gone,” he said. “I’ve reached a point where I’m just doing what I can, and when my time comes, I’ll go peacefully. If I dwell too much on political issues, I might end up drinking myself into trouble.”
At one point during the show, a listener jokingly suggested that ex-President Nana Akufo-Addo should have gifted him a car. Dada KD laughed and quipped, “Why? Am I his child?”

Though some have linked him to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the singer was quick to point out he holds no official membership.
“I’ve never received anything from the party, but no matter the situation, we’ve remained loyal,” he stated.
When asked about his thoughts on John Mahama’s leadership prospects, Dada KD kept it brief: “Let’s just watch and see what they’ll do,” choosing to steer clear of deeper political debate.
