Maradona Yeboah Adjei, known by his stage name Guru, has revealed the reason why he stopped releasing diss songs and beefing with other music artists.

Guru, who burst onto the music scene through the popular diss track ‘kasiebo’ he did with Obrafour reportedly for Okyeame Kwame, has disclosed that even though beefing is good for the music industry, once you beef with someone who does not understand beefing, you will have a lot of people hating you for no reason.

The NKZ music boss also revealed in the interview with B Ice of Agyenkwa FM in Kumasi that he advised himself because at a point in time the sort of reaction he got from people when he met them was not very good because he had dissed an artist they consider their own, even though he thought it was just for the fun of it.

The ‘Alkayida’ hitmaker also stated that after his initial beef, he released a lot of hit songs and bangers but all those hit songs were really not out there as he wanted them to be, and all the hit songs he released from 2008 didn’t really bring the deserving awards because of the sort of pullback he had.

The rapper also advised upcoming musicians to be mindful of the people they decided to beef against as you may not know if the person has a godfather at a higher place in the industry to prevent you from getting the needed hype and mileage on air.

Maradona Yeboah Adjei, who is the boss of NKZ music ended by stating that he has currently advised himself not to do beef songs again even though in recent times he hears a lot of stuff which deserves a diss reply.

Guru was on B Ice’s show to promote his fourth studio album dubbed “Journey of Judah” (JOJ), which will be launched in Accra on 29th September 2018.
