“I’m not in competition with anyone” – Piesie Esther speaks about the forthcoming VGMA awards

Celebrated Ghanaian gospel diva, Piesie Esther has firmly stated that she’s not in competition with anyone ahead of the forthcoming VGMAs.

According to the ‘Waye Me Yie” hitmaker, she is in no competition with any gospel musician who in diverse ways has been nominated for the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) which comes off on May 6.

In an interview on GTV Breakfast Show on April 25, 2023, the Piesie Esther stated that ;

I am not terrified seeing them nominated for the same category as me because we are brothers and sisters doing the same work of our maker.”

Piesie Esther additionally revealed that she wasn’t surprised when she bagged the seven nominations at VGMA 24.

Most notably, the biggest category (Artiste of the year) because she believes it is the will and plan of God.

In the latter part of the interview, Piesie Esther disclosed that she is aiming to emerge as the best songwriter of the year emphasizing that she knew ‘Waye me yie’ would go far and it has, and she is grateful to God for that.
