Fresh concerns have emerged over the status of Asante Akyem North MP Kwame Ohene Frimpong after Parliament confirmed he is being held at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The issue, according to Parliament, is already under active attention at the highest level of the House. In a statement signed by Clerk to Parliament Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, parliamentary leadership acknowledged the incident and said steps were being taken to establish the full facts.
The statement explained that the Rt Hon Speaker together with leaders of Parliament is currently engaging Ghana’s diplomatic mission in The Hague as part of efforts to gather detailed information about the detention.

“The public will be duly informed appropriately on this matter,” the statement said.
Officials, however, have not yet revealed what led to the detention, leaving several questions unanswered as authorities continue their engagements.
