The local movie industry which has been a little bit hiatus in recent months seems to be gradually finding its feet again with the injection of huge capital in it.
After Shakira movie production boss, Tracey Boakye recently took the industry by storm with the production of her movie titled “Baby Mama”, award-winning actress Mercy Asiedu and her husband, Nana Agyemang Badu have decided to keep the fire blazing in the movie space as they are set to produce a new movie.
Zionfelix.net can authoritatively confirm that the husband of the tough on-screen Ghanaian actress and chief of Kunsu in the Ahafo Ano South District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Agyemang Badu is set to inject GHC200,000 into the production of the new movie titled “MAD”.
This was revealed during a press launch held in Kumasi on Friday, August 23, 2019. According to the information gathered by zionfelix.net, the plot of the movie focus on challenges of executing business, fostering relationships and other things among various tribals groups in the country.
The movie casts a tall list of personalities including Mercy Asiedu, Sandra Ababio, Bill Asamoah, Emelia Brobbey, Kalybos, Vivian Jill, Akuapem Poloo, Christian Awuni, Amadzeba, and several others.
The movie will be directed by Samuel Appiah (Sam Power) with support from Jackson Bentum. The shooting of the movie is expected to start on Sunday, August 25 and take 12 days baring any hindrance.
MAD is a project for Mesduah Productions owned by actress Mercy Asiedu and husband.
It must be noted that this is not the first time Nana Agyemang Badu has injected some huge capital in the entertainment. He has over the past few years dedicated so much to the production of local content including Sankofa, Abuburo Kosua which is currently running on TV.
He also promised a 250 acre land for the construction of a film village which he has commenced already.
