Wilhelmina Abiba Abu Andani, widely known as Mimi, who happens to be the Executive Director of the Golden Movie Awards, has disclosed that her eight-year marriage to Mr. Nana Michaels has officially concluded.

This disclosure comes to light as Mimi finally decided to address persistent inquiries about her marital status.

Mimi explained, “This was difficult to do, but I had to do it anyway due to circumstances beyond my control (cliché, but the only). It would have been totally unnecessary to do this, but being in the media space and having to explain myself at every move I make is becoming tiring.”

The musician, who is also a record label boss, emphasized that she and Mr. Nana Michaels had been divorced for close to a year and were separated for more than a year before finalizing their divorce. To manage perceptions and avoid misunderstandings, Mimi expressed her desire to be referred to as Simply Mimi or Marvella Maame. She clarified, “My 8-year marriage has come to an end, fortunately or unfortunately.”

Mimi highlighted the importance of this notice, stating, “Protecting my corporate image is important to me.” She urged individuals to be mindful of how they address her, especially in professional settings. Mimi emphasized her commitment to maintaining an amicable relationship with her ex-husband for the well-being of their only child.

In her closing remarks, Mimi added, “Therefore, please note that my 8 years marriage has come to an end, fortunately or unfortunately. My ex-husband and I are amicably giving the only child between us all the love and support a child needs from her parent, and we try as much as possible to separate our issues from our child! So far, so good!”

“This notice has become important because most of our clients, associates, and friends will call me randomly talking about something I am not privy to, people will see me at events and scream Mrs. Michaels, when I am introduced at corporate spaces, I am always introduced as Mrs. Michaels, etc.”
