Some heartbreaking news coming in today, August 17, 2023, has it that Ghanaian musician and actor, OJ Blaq, whose real name was Andy Nii Akrashie, has died.

The report has been confirmed by many key personalities in the entertainment industry and his church, Empowerment Worship Center, where he actively served as a junior pastor,

His first record label, Lynx Entertainment, has also confirmed this sad and unfortunate report on their social media pages.

Currently, the cause of his death is yet to be known to the public, but many people have suggested that it is likely because of his recent battle with kidney disease.

Netizens will recall that in 2021, OJ Blaq was diagnosed with kidney disease, and went through dialysis treatment.

OJ Blaq recorded the hit song ‘Chale Wote’ back in 2009, and to date, it is one of the biggest songs in Ghana.

He also acted in a few movies, including the classic ‘Suncity’ television series.

Until his sad demise today, OJ Blaq had changed from his old ways and given his life to Christ as a born-again Christian.

He released a couple of gospel songs, including, ‘Have Your Way’ and many others.
