One of Ghana’s greatest movie producers and directors, Samuel Nyamekye has revealed that one sure way the Ghana movie industry may be revived from its almost ‘dead’ state now is to bring back on the screens the ‘veteran’ actor, Kofi Adu, who is popularly known as Agya Koo.  

Mr. Nyamekye speaking in a Youtube interview with The Fresh Boy Papa J on his Enterchat show stated that he believes himself and other producers and directors at a point failed to handle Agya Koo properly and as a result, the claims that he became pompous. 

The celebrated movie director also added that he thinks it was normal for Agya Koo to have behaved the way he did, even if it will hurt the movie producers. However, he had attained a legendary status on the movie scenes having stayed relevant for 15 years. He, as a result, believes he has to be brought back to revive the movie industry which is gradually dying.

“…especially Agya Koo, we need him” he stated.

The veteran movie director also disclosed that it is time the movie produces understand that the way they treated actors in the past cannot be the same as today. He made an example with himself and stated that the way he treated maybe a Bill Asamoah or Nana Ama Mcbrown in the past cannot be the same as today.

Mr. Samuel Nyamekye was speaking in the interview sighted by zionfelix.net in relation to the upcoming Miracle Films Production movie, ‘Kubolor’ which will hit the cinemas tomorrow September 21, 2018. The movie will be premiered at the Wine & Dine Cinema in Kumasi at 7 PMand 9 PM.

The cast of the movie includes Emelia Brobbey, Kalybos, Bill Asamoah and many others‘Kobolor’ is a production by Miracle Films in collaboration with the ‘Watch & Dine’ Cinema in Kumasi. It has a financial support from Zylofon Arts Fund. Zylofon Arts Fund is an NGO and a subsidiary of Zylofon Group. It, however, aims at resuscitating the ailing Ghanaian movie industry. The Zylofon Art Fund for the past months has been keen on providing financial support for creative artists who are helpless in executing their businesses.
