Renowned Ghanaian moviemaker Socrate Safo might not have received the response he expected when he applied for support from Zylofon Arts Fund, an initiative by Nana Appiah Mensah to support the creative arts industry.

Zionfelix.net gathers that Mr. Safo who happens to be the chairman of Zylofon Arts Fund applied for cash support for his upcoming movie project but his petition was rejected. According to a source, the request was thrown out following a policy by the arts fund that members of the board cannot apply.

An insider who informed Zionfelix.net about Socrate’s request said board members voted against his demand for support for the new project after they asked him to excuse them to vote over the application during a meeting.

The source added that the board members were of the view that the code that no executive member of the fund should be given a cash be implemented hence the decision to vote against giving Socrate Safo support for the movie project.

Socrate Safo we gather is the chairman of Zylofon Arts Fund.

The Zylofon Arts Fund has supported the likes of Abdul Salam Mumuni of Venus Films, Samuel Nyamekye of Miracle Films, A.A Films and many others.

Zylofon Arts Fund was launched on January 19, 2018, with a seed fund of $1 million.
