Some Ghanaian DJ’s are seriously mounting a strong social media demonstration against the system where they are always given songs to play for musicians without any monetary gains’payola’ attached, even though some copyright experts believe it is totally wrong to do so.

The newest DJ to join this open social media demonstration is no other person but Happy FM’s Isaac Degraft Danquah better known as Deejay Advicer, who is the host of the Ayekoo Drive. In a Facebook post sighted by zionfelix.net, he states categorically that this year is not going to be like the previous ones where he always plays songs for free because he is tired of such behavior from the musicians.

He sends out the caution to musicians who have any plans to call him for such free goodies to make they change their minds now and attach some money to their call because he also needs money.

“I beg henceforth no one should call me for free promo mabre aden.Nti me dier free saaa Na Afi Aso” he wrote.

This is about the second public declaration from a DJ calling on Ghanaian musicians to make sure they pay a little payola sometimes. It will be recalled that recently Adom FM’s Mike Two, who is the host of ‘Adom Entertainment Hall’ also made a similar call publicly.
