The sad demise of the true Ghanaian patriot and statement, Busumuru Kofi Annan occurred on August 1, 201 at Bern in Switzerland after a reported short illness.

The body of the former Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), has been laid-in-state today and many Ghanaians have made their way to the Accra International Conference Centre to pay their last respect to late Kofi Atta Annan.

The body is expected to be laid-in-state at the Accra International Conference Center for the nation to undergo a three-day mourning.

Some heads of departments of institutions, associations, traditional leaders, students, friends and loved ones in the public sphere are paying their last respect to the global icon.

Kofi Annan who has been viewed by many as one of Ghana’s greatest personalities to have ever lived is expected to be given a befitting state burial.
