Reggae and dancehall artiste Shatta Wale failed to perform at the maiden edition of 3music Awards which happened on Saturday, March 24 at the Fantasy Dome in Accra despite organiser’s words prior to the event that he will be on stage.
The ‘Dancehall King’ hitmaker who returned to Ghana a night before the awards has apologised to the public and his fans for not executing his duty as a musician at the event. Giving reasons for the no-show at 3Music Awards, the SM4Lyf boss revealed that organisers wanted him to be the last artiste for the night but he was not ready for the plan.
The Zylofon Media signee further questioned why organisers always want him to be the last performer at events forgetting he needed to rest after a long journey from America hours before the show.
“I know some of my fans traveled long distances , wasted their time and money just to watch me perform, but unfortunately I didn’t get on the stage because those people were asking me to drop the mic down for other artists to perform.
They wanted me to perform Last and why should it always be like that?
I just came down from a journey, I need to perform for my fans and catch some rest.
Sorry to all my beloved Fans who’re disappointed,
Sometimes things like this for happen for the Right thing to be done next time.
