Ghanaian actress, Luckie Lawson, has called on Ghanaians to celebrate filmmaker Shirley Frimpong Manso.

She said the CEO of Sparrow Productions is doing well in a male-dominated field.

However, Luckie thinks she is not celebrated enough.

“Shirley needs to be celebrated for her contribution to the growth of Ghana’s movie industry. The producer/director role is mostly dominated by the men but Shirley has proven to be one of the best movie producers challenging the man and doing so well and I really admire her for that,” she told Graphic Showbiz.

“Shirley needs to be celebrated for her contributions in the movie industry. The producer/director role is mostly dominated by the men but Shirley has proven to be one of the best movie producers challenging the men and doing so well and I really admire her for that,” Luckie Lawson added.

She also disclosed her observation about Shirley after working with her.

“I knew her to be one of the best but never knew her as someone who never rests until she gets what she wants. She wouldn’t mind asking you to do several takes for one particular scene.

“In fact, a lot of actors refuse to work with here because she also wants the best. Working with her on Madam got me closer to her and indeed my love for her has increased.

“Some of us want to be like her and continue her good works. I have produced movies before but Shirley is on another level,” said Luckie.
