The Supreme Court of Ghana has overturned the restraining order placed on the organizers of the #FixTheCountry demo.

In a report sighted by Zionfelix.net, the court presided over by Justice Yaw Appau said on Tuesday, June 8 that the High Court’s order was an error.

If you would recall, the organizers of the #FixTheCountry demo were stopped from embarking on a scheduled demonstration after the Ghana Police Service secured a restraining order from an Accra High Court, presided over by Justice Ruby Aryeetey on Thursday, May 6, 2021.

The restraining order follows an affidavit filed by the police against the conveners of the protest march pursuant to Section 1 (6) of the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491).

A section of Ghanaian youth who are not happy about the performance of Nana Akufo-Addo’s government started the online campaign to demand a better Ghana.
