With just a week to the biggest weekend in Ghana with regards to music awards, talented gospel musician, Piesie Esther is talking about her chances of winning the ultimate award on the night, Artiste of the Year.

Piesie Esther is battling it out with the likes of Camidoh, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Kidi, Joe Mettle, and Black Sherif for the coveted accolade on the night.

While speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz show on Saturday, April 29, 2023, the ‘Waye Me Yie’ hitmaker disclosed that she has high expectations that with God on her side, she will definitely walk home with the award.

When the host of the show, MzGee, asked her what she would do in the unfortunate instance she fails to pick up the award as ‘Artiste of the Year’ or any of the six other categories she has been nominated in, Piesie Esther quickly responded and stated that she will still give thanks to God.

She went further to add that she already feels honored to have been nominated in the various categories at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, especially, in the ‘Artiste of the Year’ category because it is not an easy one.

Piesie emphasized that already, she feels she is a winner because there are many musicians in the country who have been doing marvelously well and equally deserved the nomination but did not get it.

The 2023 edition of the VGMA is expected to come off on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
