Award-winning Ghanaian blogger and vlogger Zionfelix received a special invitation to attend the promotion conference for the 140th edition of the China Import and Export Fair, popularly known as the Canton Fair.
Zionfelix, who was in the USA for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, was specially invited and flown to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to participate in the high-profile international event being held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the African Union Headquarters.
His attendance is expected to help amplify awareness of the Canton Fair and the immense business opportunities it presents to African entrepreneurs, importers, exporters and investors via his various social media platforms that have a huge following.
The promotion conference has been jointly organized by the China Foreign Trade Centre, the African Union Commission, the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the African Union and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
It brings together representatives of the African Union, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), diplomatic missions of African countries accredited to the AU, business associations and leading enterprises to discuss ways of strengthening China-Africa trade relations.
According to the conference agenda, the event seeks to introduce participants to the preparations for the landmark 140th Canton Fair while showcasing its achievements in creating opportunities for China-Africa cooperation.
It also aims to facilitate stronger trade partnerships, gather recommendations from stakeholders and establish long-term communication between the Canton Fair and African governments, business communities and industry associations.
The programme features opening remarks from senior officials of the African Union Commission, China’s diplomatic mission to the AU, the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia and the China Foreign Trade Centre.
Participants will also witness presentations on the business opportunities available at the 140th Canton Fair, alongside experience-sharing sessions by business associations, buyers, Chinese enterprises and airline representatives before concluding with networking opportunities.
The Canton Fair, established in 1957, is regarded as China’s largest and most comprehensive international trade exhibition. Held every spring and autumn in Guangzhou, it attracts hundreds of thousands of buyers from more than 200 countries and regions, serving as a major platform for international commerce.
In 2026, the fair celebrates its 70th anniversary while hosting its historic 140th session from October 15 to November 4. Organizers believe the event will play an even greater role in deepening China-Africa economic cooperation, particularly as China continues implementing zero-tariff treatment for products originating from all 53 African diplomatic partner countries.
