The aspiring Member of Parliament for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, John Dumelo has criticized the recently held COVID-19 Virtual Concert.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, which was monitored by Zionfelix.net, John Dumelo said the concert was totally needless.

He argued that the money spent to organize the COVID-19 Virtual Concert could have been used to do other things that could practically help the fight against the disease.

Mr Dumelo didn’t see the importance of the COVID-19 Tracker app which was launch during the concert.

The popular Ghanaian actor turned politician suggested the money used for the concert should have been given to health personnel who are at the frontline.

He disclosed many people are struggling during this difficult moment so the organizers’ priority was not set right.

John Dumelo added that the musicians were there to do their business but his blame is channelled on the part of the organizers.

The COVID-19 Virtual Concert put together by the Ministry of Communications had performances from Shatta Wale, Kuami Eugene, Dada KD, Lucky Mensah, Nicholas Omane Acheampong, Great Ampong, Evangelist Diana Asamoah and others.
